These two hallowed quartets combine a performance history of more than five-and-a-half decades! They join forces to perform rarely heard compositions for string octet by Mendelssohn and Gade, and by Canadian composers Kelly-Marie Murphy and Airat Ichmouratov. The latter is a new work specifically commissioned for this joint performance.
