Almonte in Concert originated in 1980 as the Almonte and District Arts Council, a volunteer, not-for-profit organization offering an interdisciplinary annual programme of music, theatre, dance, and popular entertainment in local homes and schools. Its objective was to increase access to the highest quality in arts and culture for people living in Almonte and environs.
The Almonte and District Arts Council gradually evolved into Almonte in Concert, which has established itself as a premier presenter of chamber music – in the broadest sense. Since then, Almonte in Concert has been dedicated to presenting the widest possible range of distinguished ensembles, soloists, and recitalists in the acoustically superb and intimate setting of the Ron Caron Auditorium in Almonte Old Town Hall.
Land Acknowledgement
This land upon which we gather for this concert series is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation.
We honour and respect the Algonquin ancestors who cared for the land and water in order that we might meet here today.
We recognize, with gratitude, their rich history and culture: past, present, and future.
